Segafredo Zanetti was founded in 1973 by Massimo Zanetti in Rastignano, located in central Italy in the province of Bologna. In 1983 Segafredo established their first international subsidiary in Austria. Segafredo originally distributed coffee soley in Italy, but after becoming the market leader, Segafredo chose to expand their market internationally, with a strong focus on increasing retail sales and supplying coffee shops. Today Segafredo Zanetti continues to grow, select, roast, sell and distribute coffee, resulting in the production of 1.5 million bags of roasted coffee per year.

The Segafredo Zanetti as part of the Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group and their coffee beans, ground coffee, coffee capsules and Coffee pods have become synonymous with quality, taste and passion.
